A true haven for not just Scots, but all Brits and Irish too - The Cross in St Kilda always has a cracking atmosphere as well as homely food and beers to match.
Well-known for their Sunday morning Scottish cooked breakfasts, The Cross caters for lunch and dinner too - not to mention an amazing Christmas Sunday Roast offering.

The specials menu at The Cross on the Sunday in early December that we visited. ‘Chinese Chicken Curry with half chips, half rice' has to be (ironically) the most British thing ever.

Their standard menu has something for everybody and includes Scottish delicacies such as haggies, neeps and tatties. If you’re struggling to pick something from the menu (which is highly unlikely), The Cross also offers a fantastic and varied ‘Specials’ menu. However, at this time of year, you can’t look beyond their Christmas Sunday Roast menu. Reasonably-priced for the amount of food you’re getting and packed with British classics including pigs in blankets, Yorkshire pudding and cauliflower cheese.
What’s more Scottish that Tennents on draught? Perhaps a kilted man tossing a caber while chewing Highland Toffee…
In terms of beers on draught, Scots will be happy to learn that The Cross offers Tennents lager alongside the more native options. And yes - they do have Guinness on draught also. That’s a pre-requisite for any British or Irish pub.

The Cross has a weekly quiz night on Wednesdays, Sunday roast every Sunday and offers a full, Scottish breakfast every Sunday from 10am - 2pm.
