“What are the best online groups for Brits?”
Not a schooner in sight. It can only mean one thing - the Brits are here!
One of the biggest challenges that arrives with moving to a different country is connecting with a friendship group. Sure there’s workmates, neighbours and family also but having that large, extended network of friends is something that takes time to build.
At some level we’re all creatures of habit, and when it comes to meeting new people many of us find it easier to introduce a sense of familiarity into proceedings. That’s why you’ll find many British ex-pats socialising with other British ex-pats. And how can this be facilitated? Through the plethora of online groups that bring Brits together in Melbourne.
It’s really up to you how involved you want to get. Many are happy enough to post or reply to posts once in a while some prefer to sit back and observe. Others are regulars at the organised meet-ups. Think of these groups as a ‘social safety net’. If you’re not already a member of at least one of these, we definitely recommend diving in.
